About Shloka Shankar
Artist's statement:
Artist Trading Cards or ATCs measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches (think baseball cards). Typically, these tiny works of art are handmade and can be as simple or intricate as you wish them to be. Once you're done, as the name suggests, you can trade your cards with other creatives or give them away as gifts to loved ones. This set of six ATCs were made digitally using the apps Infinite Painter, PicsArt, and Canva. I have always loved working small, but this series was the result of an experiment where I masked off a large digital canvas into six rectangles and painted the entire template. Later, in the unmasking, I cropped each individual section to reveal unique abstract backgrounds. Next, I added focal and textural elements to each piece and finished them off by including found text/phrases to the cards.
