So many good poems in this issue. There's a lot of raw and revealing emotion tucked in and so many resonant poems. Aidan Castle caught my attention on first-reading with:


all my faults shimmer of salmon scales


So many of us struggle with our perceived faults, whether real or imagined. They shine incandescent in our own minds, and we assume that others see us the same, when in fact our friends and family often see us in a more positive light. A fish drifting under the surface often seems to glitter and shine but a fish surprised turns in a flash of color and a cloud of scales hangs suspended, each turning and glinting as it falls and fades. For the fish that’s the end of it. Would that we could let go so easily.
